After opening at No. 2 with his debut album, 17, XXXTentacion unleashes the startling video for ‘Look at Me!’ and ‘Riot‘ both appearing in one clip, which was written and creative directed by the controversial rapper.
Directed by JMP, the five-minute piece starts with XXX speaking to an angel-like figure with a sex toy on her head. Shortly afterwards, X can be found beating a teacher up with a dildo while ‘Look at Me!’ blares in the background.
That’s only part of the visual, however, and soon it transitions into ‘Riot’, where X can be seen hanging from a tree. After making references to tragic historical events surrounding Emmett Till, Philando Castile, Rodney King, and this year’s Charlottesville rally, which claimed the life of Heather Heyer, XXX hangs a young white child while a black child watches.
Countless social media users quickly condemned the inclusion of such a vile attempt at intelligent social commentary, while fans of the controversial rapper applauded the 19-year-old for being so “woke” and socially conscious.
The controversial video follows criticism that XXX has received over domestic violence allegations. XXXTentacion responded with a variety of short videos on social media. In a clip, he laughed after claiming that he wants to “start supporting the feminist movement.”
