French-born artist Lolo Zouaï released a dreamy single titled ‘Jade‘, featuring our beloved UK artist Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange.
The song dropped along a beautiful accompanying visual, which shows a relationship between Lolo and Dev, full of intimacy.
The Industry Plant-produced video is directed by Nicholas Harwood, who already directed Blood Orange and Asap Rocky ‘Chewing Gum‘ video, and is set at the Legendary Sunset Hollywood Villa, a mid-century modernism villa popular because served as a backdrop of 1960 Ocean’s 11, starring Frank Sinatra.
Class 1996, born in Paris but raised in San Francisco, Lolo Zouaï is definitely a talent you should keep your eyes on.
Je suis chaude pour toi.
Got it, we’re on fire for you too Lolo. ‘Jade’ was released together with the self-produced track ‘Lose Myself‘, with the title of Ocean Beach, and both songs are a tribute to her hometown.
‘Jade’ explores the string between beauty and pain. Growing up I’d spend a lot of time at Ocean Beach thinking and writing lyrics. I needed to remind myself that I used to be in my bedroom producing, wondering how I was gonna get my music out there. In the music industry it’s easy to feel jaded and lose the passion that made you want to start in the first place.”
