Our beloved Marvely, best known as dj and producer, has released his first single. And yeah! He sings the song.
Marvely is the mind behind Akeem, but sometimes, he believes is better to take apart what you are used to and what you care about to follow new directions, starting new beginnings. His music project is pretty different from the image that Marvely has given to us for years; it’s pop-indie and 100% Italian.
In the era of Tinder, ‘Rho Fiera’ is a love story with the flavour of something sentenced to have a short life, real and young, like the fire of passion, but then it ends.
There are no winners or losers, just the loneliness and waste of time running after the idea of a perfect match and soul mate. When a relationship evolves first you’re focused on someone, but then the routine follows and you end up feeling just like Albero Della Vita (Tree of Life) at Milan’s suburb Rho Fiera, magnificent once, useless now after the Expo.
‘Rho Fiera’ perfectly fits with the contemporary Italian indie scene, sounding pop, catchy and jazz, influenced by chillwave/synthpop blends from Toro y Moi and Washed Out, but also by the Italian jazz sound of Pino Daniele.
The single has been released with an accompanying music video directed by Luther Blissett, where a young woman called Chiara juggles dating three boys at the same time, but always feeling unsatisfied. Illustration and animation at the end of the video are created by Massimiliano Marzucco and Alessandro Moretti.
Enjoy the clip, take your time to realize how Marvely really knows you.
