WIZKID X DAILY PAPER ‘STARBOY’ CAPSULE CELEBRATES AFRICAN CULTURE

Amsterdam-based clothing label, Daily Paper, has collaborated with Nigerian musician Wizkid a.k.a. STARBOY to produce an exclusive capsule collection, which will be launched during a 3-day pop-up takeover at the New York flagship store.

With two agendas so closely aligned, this collaboration was born as a natural extension of a meeting between Daily Paper and Wizkid. Both brands working to ensure that the rich and diverse culture of Africa is at the forefront of music and fashion culture globally. Seeking to inspire a new generation of African diaspora youth, Wizkid truly embodied the journey from grass to grace – moving from hardship to triumph in his music career; from boy to STARBOY. Each piece prominently features Wizkid’s other moniker “STARBOY”, its straightforward designs working well with the socks, hats, t-shirts, and hoodies the line is consisted of.

This journey is reflected much in parallel with that of Daily Paper – a need for true authenticity of collaboration. Expected to be a multi-phased collaboration, the first product drop will see the release of a 7-piece capsule in Amsterdam, including both ready-to-wear and accessories. Moving from city-to-city — mirroring the global journey of both brands — the capsule will launch in Amsterdam – the birth-place of the Daily Paper world. The next drop is expected to happen in Portugal followed by London, with exclusive additions to the collection based on the location. The collection launch will culminate in Accra and Lagos – a global circle, and the beating heart of both brands. The next phase of the collaboration will explore the notion of African Futurism.

The limited edition Daily Paper and STARBOY collaboration is available via Daily Paper’s website and Instagram.
