Davido‘s much-anticipated album A Good Time has finally dropped. As his second studio album, it serves as the follow-up to his 2016 EP Son of Mercy and his first full-length release since the arrival of his debut album, 2012’s Omo Baba Olowo.
The award-winning superstar’s latest project delivers 17 new tracks to listeners, including collaborations with Naira Marley, Zlatan, Popcaan, Chris Brown, Summer Walker, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, WurlD, Dremo, Peruzzi, and Yonda. Production across the album comes from the likes of Kiddominant, Shizzi, London On Da Track, Speroach Beatz, P2J and more.
“I started as a producer … I really started liking American-type music when I was in college. I went to Nigeria, and I saw how the culture was and the music. It was 2010 and I fell in love with Nigerian music. Fell in love with entertainment. I fell in love with the whole thing. I was like, I want to be a part of this … I packed my bags and I moved back. It’s just crazy how me moving back to Nigeria and doing what I did in Nigeria, making the type of music I made, making the type of music I know how to make, for it to be crossing over here now … for me to be here, go back home, and for the cycle to come back over here, it’s amazing. African people are really supportive of their culture — are really proud of their culture.”
Davido shared earlier this year, opening up about his artistic origins for an April edition of our MIC/LINE podcast for Hypebeast. Last month, Davido dropped ‘Risky‘ single ft. Popcaan. You can check out Davido’s latest studio album A Good Time below.
